Shell Point Oyster

Crassostrea gigas

Shell Point oysters are grown on the eastern shore of Eld Inlet in southern Puget Sound in a cove that is fed by Simmons Creek. Hatchery produced seed is grown in bags on the beach until the oysters are mature enough to be finished directly on the beach. The oysters tend to be mild in salinity followed by a bit of sweetness and finish with a hint of melon that the Puget Sound in known for.
