Snow Creek Oyster

Crassostrea gigas

Snow Creek oysters grown utilizing the rack and bag method of oyster culture in Samish Bay, north Puget Sound. The bags themselves are located intertidally on racks off the bottom and the large mesh allows for excellent water circulation around the oyster and promotes rapid growth. Samish Bay is one of the richest and most productive bays in the Puget Sound. This due to the abundance of nutrients introduced by the Samish River along with the twice daily flush of water from the Straight of Juan De Fuca. The oysters tend to be mild in salinity, have an earthy sweetness and finish with a hint of melon rind.
